Bucky vids, TFATWS 1x05

meg_tdjThe theme of a lot of this week's new Bucky vids is Bucky's resilience against all odds, and I am LIVING for it. I've found a few new all-time faves.
Survivor (by Jagreenie) - The timing in the action sequences in this vid!! Also, I need to download this song, because I like it so much more than the original Destiny's Child version. EPIC. Bucky is the ultimate survivor.
Shattered (by LilianHearts) - I've always loved this song, and I've seen it used for Bucky vids before, but with the new footage and this vid's focus on the end of the song rather than the beginning, it takes on a whole new meaning. This is Bucky regaining his hope. (Also, the timing of Bucky going dusty gives me CHILLS)
Edit: After watching this about a dozen more times, I think I just realized why this is the best use I've seen of this song in a Bucky vid - the line "his love will conquer all" isn't talking about Steve, nor even about Sam. From the clip choices on that line, it's BUCKY'S love this vidder is talking about. His ability to love (his friends, his team, the shield, humanity, freedom, and hopefully one day himself) has survived everything he's been through, and it's what keeps him going. Oh Bucky... ðŸ˜
Keeping Me Alive (by Madelyn Thompson) - Another new favourite video AND song! This one is action-packed, but in a way that shows Bucky's progress from assassin to hero, and the editing is SO PERFECT, and the clip choice works SO BEAUTIFULLY with the lyrics. It's the perfect blend of angst and action, and really showcases Bucky's fight to reclaim himself.

Date: 2021-04-21 04:57 pm (UTC)I really really really hope Sam and Bucky will at least show up in a few of the movies together between now and the next Avengers ensemble movie. It's YEARS away! But I fully expect there to be more seasons of this show. The studio has said as much just by submitting it for Emmy consideration as a serial drama rather than a limited series.
I still have my fingers crossed that Bucky will appear in Black Panther 2!! They're leaning too heavily on the "White Wolf" persona for him NOT to. (Who am I kidding, I'm still hoping Shuri will appear in ep 6!)
