Diary of an Evil Genius

Just a little Code Black fic I wrote for hineas_estel, expressing our snarky feelings about the show getting rid of its best characters. (Spoiler alert: Malaya Pineda, aka Melanie Chandra, is the latest to be unceremoniously dropped between seasons.)

Disclaimer: I didn't watch season 2, so I'm working from second-hand information. But this is set shortly after the events of that season.

No warnings, unless you think my snarky attitude at the way this show treats its actors might offend you. Characters used are Neal, Malaya, Christa, and Mike.

My Christeal feels are stagnant if not dead, but this is my Raza in a sweet vid, so you KNOW I'm all over it. Also, what a beautiful song. If Christa's feeling this way in season 2, I might actually be able to like her again.

At long long last, I've made a Raza Jaffrey moodtheme! And because I'm nice like that (and ever hopeful that there are others out there in LJ land who adore this man as much as I do), I'm gonna share it.

I included as many of his roles as I had DVD or screencap access to (Spooks/MI5, Smash, Code Black, Elementary, Homeland, Bombay Dreams, Sharpe's Peril, The Cape, Victory?), as well as lots of candids and photoshoots that I picked up here and there around the internet.

Most screencaps are mine, others I got from springfieldspringfield.co.uk and screencapped.net. Most of the candids came from the Twitters or Instagrams of Raza and his castmates/friends, and Getty and contactmusic hopefully won't be too mad that I've used a couple of their red carpet shots, but some of these images were picked up ages ago from I don't remember where, so I'm afraid I can't credit their sources. My apologies if I've used one of yours without credit.

A week late and hardly any icons to show for it? *gasp* I know how it looks, but no, I haven't calmed down about this show. There was hardly any Neal in this episode, so what was I gonna go icon-crazy over? Pfft. :P

I can't even tell you guys how much I'm in love with this show. It gets better and better with every episode, and Neal/Christa is TO DIE FOR. Not to mention Marcia Gay Harden being Made Of Awesome as Leanne-aka-Daddy, Luis Guzman as Jesse-aka-Mama getting some of the best one-liners ever, and Angus being adorable all over the place. It is rapidly exceeding House and St. Elsewhere in my medical show affections, and believe me, that's saying something.

If you do watch the show, take my advice? Follow the whole cast on Twitter. The awesomest 8 people in the entire world, no lie. They interact so much with the fans on there, I don't know how they get any work done. Not that I'm complaining. ;)

You guys should be watching Code Black, btw. It's ER on speed, with the overall vibe of St. Elsewhere. Not a particle of Grey's Anatomy anywhere to be found. Which basically means IT IS AWESOME.

And it also has this guy. Helloooooo, Dr. Handsome... er, Hudson, Dr. Hudson. *ahem* (Whaaaaat? I didn't even give him that nickname! Marcia Gay Harden did!!)

OHMIGOSH, YOU GUYS!!! THERE'S A 7-MINUTE TRAILER FOR CODE BLACK!!!!!!

I would be crazy-excited for this show even without Raza Jaffrey, BUT IT HAS RAZA JAFFREY SO I AM BEYOND CRAZY-EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW. It looks like it'll be everything I love about medical shows (St. Elsewhere, ER, House?) and nothing that I hate (*cough*Grey's Anatomy*cough*). I just... can't even. Summer will sooooo not pass quickly enough for me.



I love the "You're the doctor they want" line directed at Raza. YES. YES PLEASE. Guh, he's so beautiful. And hugging kids all over the place. What are they trying to do to me?? ... I think it's working.
