aka Sam Winchester and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

You know what always amazes me about this show? That they can have a side-splittingly funny episode like this one, but they don't just make it a throw-away episode. There's storyarc, there's real danger, there are more developments in the relationship between the brothers... there was even awesome insight into John in this one. That blows my mind. They crammed so much into this ep!

Also, this episode was full of firsts and bests - first time Bobby said "idjits," best Sam line ever, Sam and Dean's first argument about Ruby, first time we saw Dean look suspicious and ask Sam if he was feeling okay, best physical comedy they've done, first glimpse of John's storage locker, first introduction to Bela... the list goes on.

My first thought when they mentioned the storage locker was "a hill made of 42 dogs..." ;)

The good luck/bad luck fights were hilaaaarious. Especially that first one where the boys had no idea what was going on, LOL.

Sam's bitchface in the picture while Dean is grinning like a lunatic, heehee! I wonder if that picture's still on the restaurant's website. Do they still claim their free meals? ;)

I find it interesting that Bela's first interaction with the boys was hitting on Sam. I don't think subconsciously he quite got over that initial impression, you know? ;)

Sam's falls are some of the funniest moments this show has ever had. The one in the parking lot is my favourite, because it's so out of the blue and he just... goes down mid-stride, LOL. I love the one in the thief's apartment, too, when he takes the stereo and lamp down with him and gives a muffled "Yeah, I'm good" afterwards, hahahaha! Jared is surprisingly awesome with the slapstick, and I love how he somehow made himself look like a sad, sulky little boy for half the ep. ;)

Dean's line about reading people was so cool and heroic when he used it on the thief, but using it on Bela and failing miserably? That was hilarious, LOL. He was so pleased with himself the first time, he thought for sure it would always work. ;)

The gumshoe scene was quite simply the funniest thing I have ever seen. I was laughing SO HARD I thought I was going to DIE. Oh maaaan... first of all, it was so hilarious watching him in the background while Dean was on the phone having a serious conversation, and then just as I thought the fence was going to collapse or Sam was going to fall down the hole into the sewer... his shoe pops off. It was so unexpected! And then more cute in-the-background stuff happens, and when we see him full-on again he has such a cutely dejected look on his face. Honestly, I don't understand how a massive 6'4" dude like Jared can make himself look 4 years old sometimes, but he does, and it's hysterical. And then the delivery of "I lost my shoe"... I pretty much fell out of my chair, LOL. SO HILARIOUS!

And when he's stuck in the motel room and the heater starts smoking? I love that he's like "Oh, come on, I... I didn't... I wasn't even..." Hahaha! Poor Sam.

Now that we know the outcome of the Grand Plan, it seems that Gordon and Kubrick were actually right. I think I squealed out loud when Kubrick said, "Sam Winchester's more than a monster. He's the adversary." Because HE TOTALLY IS. Well, not yet. But you know what I mean. That wasn't foreshadow, that was an actual REVEAL.

And now I have to talk about Bela - I wasn't crazy about her when season 3 first aired, but I've warmed up to her since we saw her fate. Now I can see foreshadow for that in this episode, especially with her comment that "We're all going to Hell, Dean. Might as well enjoy the ride." She was a "great thief" because of her deal. She was rather mousey and fearful before then, so I would imagine being beautiful and kickbutt were things she asked for. It all makes so much sense now!

I also love the idea of Bela, that there are people out there cashing in on the things hunters use. Because there totally would be.

Here, have a YouTube clip - Sam's bad luck. Some of the funniest scenes ever right there. :D

Randomness -
*Kubrick's bumper stickers read "How Would Jesus Drive?", "Don't Make Me Come Down There! - God", and "Bethlehem or Bust."
*For anyone who might not have understood the reference, Bela Lugosi played Dracula in the 1931 movie. Really cute reference, but I would have thought she'd be smarter than that about her aliases.
*The Yummy Brown Jacket of Awesomeness got shot!! Thankfully it survived intact. ;)
*I always think it was rather unwise to leave a magic rabbit's foot sitting on a counter when there's a cat in the room. Hello?
*I believe Dean's "son of a bitch!" at the end was an ad lib, and Jared was genuinely cracking up there. Heehee!

Quotes -

Sam: No way! That's my division championship soccer trophy! I can't believe he kept this.
Dean: Yeah, that's probably the closest you ever came to being a boy.

Dean: Oh, wow! It's my first sawed-off! I made it myself. Sixth grade. *cocks it, smiles*

Dean: Don't worry, Bobby will find a way to break it. Until then, I say we hit Vegas. Pull a little Rain Man. You can be Rain Man.

Bobby: Just look out for your brother, ya idjit.

Sam: I lost my shoe.

Dean: So you know the truth about what's really going on out there, and this is what you decide to do with it? You become a thief?
Bela: I procure unique items for a select clientele.
Dean: Yeah, a thief.
Bela: No. A great thief.

Creedy: We didn't even have to touch you! You just went all spastic and knocked yourself out. It was like watching Jerry Lewis try to stack chairs.

Bela: Being a hunter is so much more noble? A bunch of obsessed, revenge-driven sociopaths trying to save a world that can't be saved?
Dean: Well, aren't you a glass half full.

Dean: If it's any consolation, I think you're a truly AWFUL person.

Dean: I'm Batman.
Sam: Yeah. You're Batman.

Dean: Say goodbye, wascawy wabbit.

Bela: Thanks very much. I'm out 1-1/2 million and on the bad side of a very powerful, fairly psychotic buyer.
Dean: Wow. I really don't feel bad about that. Sam?
Sam: Nope. Not even a little.
Bela: Maybe next time I'll hang YOU out to dry.
Dean: Oh, don't go away angry, just go away.
