I think I'm in the minority on this, but I like this episode. It's not among my faves, by a long shot, and it was annoying to get a one-off ep that was guest-character-heavy right after a long hiatus (they really need to stop doing that to us), but I thought it was a good episode. I didn't even come CLOSE to calling the twist at the end, and I thought it was really well done. You can go back after knowing the outcome and pick up on tons of deeper meaning in everything the boys said and did, it's great.

It was good for explaining what they do for newish viewers, too. I hadn't seen most of season 1 by this point, so when they explained about burning bones and using salt guns and whatnot, I finally started to understand the show, heh.

Also, Tricia Helfer was remarkably unannoying in a role that could easily have crossed over into wimpy and whiny with a lot of actresses. I really felt for Molly. And her reaction to seeing their weapons stash was absolutely perfect, heehee! They really do seem like psychos. ;)

My favourite scene - when Sam and Molly are going through the papers, and Sam gives his little ghost speech. I love simple, quiet scenes like that. It's weird, but I always have to watch that scene at least twice when I watch this episode, I love it that much. Even though poor Jared sounds like he can barely breathe, and I swear his eyes look glassy. I'm glad he went to work that day anyway. :P

I also love the moment when Dean's door-kick doesn't work, hahahaha! He looked so offended. ;)

All through the ep, it seemed a little weird that Dean was being so short with this woman while Sam was brimming over with sympathy, but when you find out she's unknowingly a ghost... yeah, the whole thing made sense. I loved that.

And Sam's explanation of what makes a person turn into a vengeful spirit, and his speech about what happens to ghosts after they're laid to rest... once you know she's a ghost, you can totally see that he was talking about her, not just to her. This show is so good at keeping secrets while dropping a million hints that later on you feel stupid for missing. Unless that's just me. :P

The ending was a little too borderline-Ghost-Whisperer-y for comfort, but at least Dean mocked it beforehand. And for the second time in the series, Dean calls Sam Haley-Joel, hahaha! I like the note it ended on, though, with Sam saying it doesn't matter whether they know where people go after they die... that "hope's kinda the whole point." Because that's pretty much all Sam has to hold onto at this point. :(

Randomness -
*I would just like to point out that Sam can dig an entire grave in 30 seconds flat. Because he's a superhero like that.

Quotes -

Dean: Did he look like he'd lost a fight with a lawn mower?
Molly: How did you know that?
Dean: Lucky guess.

Molly: The only time we really argued was when we were stuck in the car.
Sam: *laughs* Yeah. I know how that goes.
Dean: *glares*

Dean: We weren't just cruisin' for chicks when we ran into you, sister. We were already out here. Hunting.
Molly: Hunting for what?
Dean: Ghosts.
Sam: D...d...don't... sugarcoat it for her...

Molly: So this is really what you guys do, you're like Ghostbusters.
Dean: Yeah, minus the jumpsuits.

Dean: Follow the creepy brick road.

Dean: You know, just once I'd like to round the corner and see a NICE house.

Dean: Sammy's always getting a little J. Love Hewitt when it comes to things like this.

Dean: You're like a walking encyclopedia of weirdness.
Sam: Yeah, I know.

Molly: Oh, thank God!
Dean: Call me Dean.

I am also in the Pro-Roadkill camp!! Its also not one of my favourite episodes, but i do really enjoy it? The absolute mystery. It was something we'd never seen this show do before - it was spectacular.

And everytime i hear "House of the Rising Sun" i get shivers, and an image of a broken radio coming to life. Guh. Love that song in all its creepiness.

Yay, I'm glad to hear that! :D

I love that song, and yeah, SPN made it creepy as heck. I love when they mess with my mind like that. ;)
