The Dan/Jan 100 Prompt Challenge
Jan. 20th, 2008 11:25 pmOkay, folks, the Dan/Jan 100 Prompt Challenge is officially underway!
The way this works is: You take a table full of prompts, use the prompts to inspire fic ideas, write the fics, post the fics telling us which prompt(s) inspired them, turn your table of prompts into a table of fic links, also submit the fics/links to the Challenge Archive, and watch the Main Table on the archive grow. In a nutshell. ;)
Instructions for the challenge can be found here - http://danjanchallenge.ms11.net/promptchallenge.html
Prompt tables and the codes needed to post them on your website/journal are here - http://danjanchallenge.ms11.net/prompttables.html
The Main Table that will gather all the responses together is here - http://danjanchallenge.ms11.net/promptmaintable.html
Some things everyone should know... I've broken the 100 prompt table down into 10 "bite-sized" tables of 10 prompts each, so if 100 fics seem a little too much for you to handle, you can still participate by taking one (or two or three...) of the smaller tables.
Also, not every fic needs to be Dan/Jan-related. Use these prompts however your muse commands and fill your table with anything you like! This IS a Dan/Jan challenge, though, so only your Dan/Jan responses will be linked to on the Main Table. For that reason, I would prefer that at least 4 out of each 10 fics that you write are Dan/Jan, but if you only manage one or two, I'm not going to send the fic police after you. ;)
Anyway... if you're interested in participating, please read the instructions carefully and take a look at the prompt tables, and then let me know to what extent you would like to take part. There's no time limit on sign-ups or submissions here, so no pressure. Just snag a table, put it somewhere that you'll see it fairly regularly, and soak up the inspiration. I can't wait to see the fics these prompts will inspire. :)
